Meta Platforms (META) reports third-quarter results after the market closes on Wednesday, October 21, and the AI infrastructure companies that sell to it could move too. Bloomberg identified five suppliers that derive an estimated 9.4% to 18.2% of their revenue from Meta, led by Penguin Solutions (PENG) at 18.2% and Arista Networks (ANET) at 16.1%. Meta's announcement sets the call for 4:30 p.m. ET. The exposure figures are Bloomberg estimates, not company disclosures, and we have not opened Bloomberg's original report.

The supplier figures reflect average absolute price moves after their own earnings, not predicted direction, according to the summary supplied. Credo has both the largest average move (4.4%) and the fastest forecast growth (105.7%), and Ciena has the smallest exposure and move. The summary does not say what period the growth forecasts cover, so treat them with caution. For example, a separate October 6 preview of Penguin expected fiscal fourth-quarter revenue growth of about 38%, and it did not mention Meta as a customer. Western Digital's October 22 report is the first test for the group, one day after Meta's.

What Meta is expected to say

Meta's call is its first chance to update spending plans that feed these suppliers. One preview page put consensus at about $63.3 billion of revenue and $6.77 of EPS for the quarter, and said Meta expects 2026 capital expenditure of $130 billion to $145 billion. That page noted its own date inconsistencies, so confirm against Meta's release. It also said Meta shares fell about 9% the day after the second-quarter report, when the third-quarter outlook came in below forecasts. Since January 2016, Meta has moved an average of 8.2% after earnings, about ten times the 0.8% average for the S&P 500, by our calculation from the two figures. A change in Meta's capex outlook is the main read-through for networking, memory and storage suppliers.

How to read the exposure numbers

Exposure shows how much each company's sales depend on one customer, which cuts both ways. A higher estimated share, such as Penguin's 18.2%, means Meta's spending can swing revenue more, and a lower one, such as Ciena's 9.4%, means less. These are estimates, since companies often do not name customers. For the broader picture, see our coverage of Meta's Muse app.
